Statutory audit

Statutory audit

"Independent statutory audit of companies and other entities — opinion on the financial statements, with working papers that will stand a peer review."

A statutory audit is an opinion on whether the financial statements show a true and fair view. We plan the audit around the areas that actually move the statements — revenue, inventory, related parties, debt — not around a generic checklist printed the week before sign-off.

What this engagement covers

  • Audit planning and risk assessment
  • Substantive testing of material balances and transactions
  • Review of board minutes, related-party disclosures and going-concern indicators
  • Reporting under the Companies Act and applicable accounting standards
  • Management letter on control observations that did not affect the opinion

How we work

We issue a request list at planning. Fieldwork is scheduled so queries are closed before the board date, not on it.

Who it is for

Companies and other entities that require a statutory audit, including those changing auditor.

Share the last audited statements and the current trial balance to start planning.
