GST return filing

GST return filing

"GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from a sales and purchase book that has already been matched to 2B — not from an export of the accounting software on the due date."

Returns filed on time with an unmatched 2B are how interest and notices start. From Masjid East we file after the outward register and 2B have been looked at, even if that means the conversation happens two days before the due date rather than on it.

What this engagement covers

  • GSTR-1 from the outward register
  • GSTR-3B with ITC limited to what 2B actually supports
  • GSTR-9 / 9C coordination where applicable
  • Amendment of prior-period invoices inside the window
  • A short exception list of invoices that did not go in and why

How we work

Week 1 close of the previous month, week 2 GSTR-1, week 3 GSTR-3B is the rhythm we ask clients to keep. The return is a by-product of that close.

Who it is for

Registered businesses in trading, services and professional practice that want the return to follow the books.

If 3B has been filed but 2B was never opened, the next month should start with a reconciliation, not another 3B.
